This is the second home I've renovated for this client. The primary focus was the display of his important collection of Southeast Asian antiquities, African sculpture and contemporary paintings. This house features expansive walls of glass facing a wooded ravine as well as a tall central atrium open to several levels. We created a language of tracery wall trim, door trim, steel stair railings and custom built furniture to display the artwork. The aesthetic is meant to impart the quiet grace of a traditional Japanese tea-house. An elaborate lighting system was designed to best highlight the fine art pieces.
